Director Hedy Jose B. Lardizabal of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Office I, along with Director Edgar F. Asuncion of the CSC La Union Field Office, conferred Gantimpala Agad Awards (GAA) to PBGen Emmanuel B Peralta, Director of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Office 1, and to the team from the Pugo, La Union Police Station composed of PEMS Erwin R Viloria, PSSg Cherry Anne D Olaviano, Pat Cesar B Estoesta Jr, during the flag raising ceremony held at the PNP Police Regional Office 1 Grounds, San Fernando City, La Union on 6 December 2021.
PBGen Peralta was awardedfor his responsiveness and commitment to public interest manifested through various strategic initiatives which address the basic needs of the police force assigned in isolated and disadvantaged areas in Region 1 including the communities they serve. The awardee’s 5Ps Project of Patubig ng Pulis, Pailaw ng Pulis, Pabahay ng Pulis, Pantawag ng Pulis, and Palikuran ni Juana Handog ng Kapulisan, has created a stronger partnership between and among the PNP, Local Government Units, and other sectors in the community, resulting to a more progressive, safer, and active police-community relations. It supports the agenda of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflicts (NTF-ELCAC) in the delivery of accessible basic social services.
Meanwhile, the team from the Pugo, La Union Police Station was recognized for its commitment and responsiveness manifested during the conduct of search operation on a missing person undertaken on 15 September 2021 in Pugo, La Union. The team, composed of PEMS Viloria, PSSg Olaviano, and Pat Estoesta, initiated the search operation, along with the wife of the missing person and a PNP personnel from Tuba, Benguet, and later found Mr. Cornelio Escopete, a senior citizen from Old Site, Bakakeng Norte, Baguio City, sitting under the heat of the sun near a church at Brgy. Tavora East. Mr. Escopete, who was believed to be suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, was learned to have been missing for a week already. Before turning him over to his wife and to the PNP Tuba personnel, the team brought him first to the Pugo Police Station for his basic necessities.
As per CSC Memorandum Circular 1, s. 2001 or the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE), the GAA is given outright to employees commended by clients for their courtesy, promptness, efficiency, and dedication to duty.
