For the second consecutive year during the pandemic, government employees from all over Region 1 joined the Online Photography Contest as one of the activities of the 121st Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA). A total of twenty-five (25) qualified entries were screened by the CSC RO I Regional Selection Committee during the deliberation process held on 16 August 2021.
The photo entries, aligned with the contest theme, “Pagtugon ng Lingkod Bayani sa Patuloy na Hamon ng Pandemya”, highlighted the resiliency and dedication to service of government employees despite the challenges faced during this pandemic. The contest guidelines required, among others, that photographs must be original, must not contain copyrighted materials, and must not be digitally altered or enhanced in any way.
Based on the following criteria, namely, content and adherence to theme (30%), visual impact (25%), creativity and originality (25%), and photography quality (20%), the committee came up with the top three (3) that were submitted as regional entries to the national level for the final selection process which also took part in August 2021. The photo entries at the national level, especially the top 10, shall be used for future official activities and projects of the CSC. Meanwhile, the top 3 entries coming from Region 1 shall be later announced through the CSC RO I social media channels.
The Regional Selection Committee was composed of officials and personnel of CSC RO I, namely Director IV Hedy Jose B. Lardizabal (Chairperson), Marichu Y. Cuison, Rainier G. Repollo, Gerald Erwin P.
